Bingham Cup Festival & Tournament Tickets – On sale now!
- Updated: June 15, 2014
Kicking off on Sunday August 24, the eight day festival consists of over 20 events including the three day rugby tournament. We’ve partnered with some of Sydney’s most prominent community organisations such as Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, the Harbour City Bears and Queer Screen to create a diverse line up of events that they say will appeal to visitors and locals.
“With over twenty events, there’s something for everyone”, say Bingham Cup Events Manager Jonny Bastin.“We’ve got a pool party, a BBQ at Bondi, a documentary film screening about Mark Bingham, after whom the tournament is named, dance parties, a charity event and our three Bingham Bars – Kinselas, the Stonewall and the Beresford.”
The official Opening Ceremony, to be hosted by Australian drag icon Vanessa Wagner will take place at the MCA on Thursday August 28th; and the closing event will be a massive party at Ivy on Sunday August 31st featuring Australia’s hottest DJs. Whilst many events are free, we are encouraging the general public to buy a Supporters Pass that gets them into all ticketed events, with priority entry and souvenir merchandise.
Jonny Bastin says; “Supporters passes are currently on sale for just $250. They get you into the pool party, Opening Ceremony, the Closing Awards and Closing Party plus entry to every game. This is great value, but be quick as we expect them to be really popular and also passes go up in price to $300 on July 1st”.
